About Dana Stein
Based in Baltimore, MD, I have been exclusively grantwriting since 2005, following the completion of a Masters in Public Administration. I am very driven to help people in need, and after working with a number of nonprofit organizations, not surprisingly I realized that they can accomplish very little without solid programs and proper funding. I feel privileged to be able to spend my time working for good causes — whether this means getting emergency food services to at-risk Baltimore City families, introducing restorative practices in middle schools to prevent sexual assault, creating environmental education programs for Jewish youth, or providing critical household supplies to families experiencing trauma or crisis.
I have a broad range of grantwriting experience and my skills are transferable to any topic area. In particular, I specialize in finding and securing funding for environmental education, health care, domestic violence response, and Jewish organizations. I have been successful in writing grants for both state and federal agencies as well as private foundations.
When I’m not writing, I enjoy hanging out with my husband Michael, son Samson, and daughter Astrid, hiking around Baltimore, and knitting socks.
